In order to achieve this qualification, graduates should have developed a working knowledge of the principles and application of Human Resource Management, and with this there is the opportunity to embark on a professional career, or to progress onto achieving a full Bachelors Degree or CIPD qualification.
How is this program taught?
Depending upon your chosen mode of study, some or all modules include web and digital based elements to promote the flexibility of today’s progressive study environment. Human Resource Management students are often required to engage with industry networks in order to complete assessments, and to show understanding and aptitude of the relevant principles and theories.
Formal hours of study usually range from 12-16hrs per week, with full-time campus students undertaking some additional hours of classroom engagement, whilst distance-learning students should engage in additional research and project work.
How will I be assessed?
If you choose to progress to university for the remaining stages of your Degree studies, you may find a varied approach to assessment which will ultimately develop your abilities even further.

For students who have the equivalent of the GCSE (or iGCSE) level qualification, or if you didn’t achieve satisfactory pass grades in senior school, and need to complete a Foundation Year, you may enrol into the intensive first-year Foundation program to gain the initial 120 credits. Successful completion of this program allows you enter directly into the 2nd year of the course, and to carry those credits across.
To progress into the final year of the Bachelors Degree with a partner university you must also meet their respective entry requirements, such as satisfactory grades in your first 2 years of study with Axial, and the requisite English language ability for your chosen course of study (each university has individual requirements, and details can be provided to students at the time of their initial application to Axial).

You may also have the opportunity to study abroad, if you select an international campus of Axial or of one of our university partners. This could take you to the Middle East, Cyprus, or even as far as Africa. Students who attend an Axial International Study Centre in a growing number of locations around the world may also consider options for completing the final phase of their studies right here in London!
Distance learning fees start at just £199 per subject (for the 16 subject level 5 programme). We also offer an initial enrolment-pack, which gets you enrolled as a distance-learning student with Axial and registered on the UK system, plus your first unit fees and learning material, for £549 (includes a tablet PC set up for e-Learning, all application fees, Awarding-Body registration, and tuition fees for Unit-1).

The 8 core units in this level 5 programme are listed below and all of these must be completed, along with 8 specialist subjects in the field of Human Resources, in order to achieve the 240 credits required for the final award. Business entities structure themselves and operate in ways that allow their objectives to be met, and the aim of this unit is to provide learners with an understanding of different types of organisations, the influence of stakeholders, and the relationship between businesses and the local, national and global environments.|
|Managing Financial Resources & Decisions||HDBHR-2||15|
|This unit is designed to give learners a broad understanding of the sources and availability of finance for a business organisation, and students will learn how to evaluate these different sources and compare how they are used. The course will provide an understanding of where and how to access sources of finance for a business, as well as the skills necessary to use financial information for decision making.|
|This unit explores the behaviour of individuals and groups within organisations, and examines current theories and their application in managing behaviour in the workplace. It also examines the links between the structure and culture of organisations and how these influence the behaviour of the workforce, and the ways in which an organisation structures and organises its workforce for a positive impact on the culture to develop within the organisation.|
|This is a broad-based unit which gives students the opportunity apply the key principles of Marketing, and aims to provide learners with understanding and skills relating to the fundamental concepts and principles that underpin the marketing process. Students will consider the use of environmental analysis in marketing; they will investigate the importance of market segmentation and how this leads to the identification and full specification of target groups, and; they will consider buyer behaviour and positioning.|
This unit is designed to introduce learners to the techniques and methods of research. The unit addresses a variety of research methodologies, including the opportunity to carry out interventionist or action research.
Learners will be required to produce a project report based on independent research into an area of professional business practice that interests them and will add to their professional development.
You should use both primary and secondary sources of information, and should be an exploration of a current major issue. The study undertaken should build on knowledge, skills and understanding that have been achieved in other units.
